Motivation

The following post is from Lifestyle patient Joshua Altman.

Every day the past month has been different, but as I spent more time focusing on myself I’ve noticed how my motivation has changed.

My motivation this past month has been my girlfriend!

Lynsey is the type of person who has that 9 to 5pm work schedule. My schedule, on the other hand, is all over the place as it varies week by week. Because of this we typically only see each other on the nights when she is off work when I don’t work. Knowing this, my usual habit is to get my exercise done in the early morning before I go to work.

I am fortunate enough to say that our schedules have synced up much better the past few weeks and we’ve been able to workout together much more. In addition, I have postponed my workouts until later in the day to do them with her, and even though it throws off my routine…the benefits are well worth it!

Because we’ve been able workout together, we’ve had to opportunity to do all these things together the past month several times:

Go to yoga at Seattle Yoga Lounge.

Take CrossFit classes at Northwest CrossFit.

Indoor rock climb at Stone Gardens in Ballard.

Ride our bikes through Greenlake.

Get massages.

Get a weekly checkup at Lifestyle Chiropractic & Wellness Center.

Snowboard at Snoqualmie.

More importantly…exercising together has made us bond on a new level. I can’t explain it, but I feel even closer to her, and it’s a feeling that I love.

She has been my motivation recently which not only allows me to maintain my health but allows us to struggle together to exercise even during the times we would rather just watch Netflix.
