It’s so easy to become distracted these days. Every day many of us surrounded by other people. We’re constantly on our phones and we have jam packed schedules. How often do we focus on the present moment? I’ve found that the easiest way to get rid of any and sometimes all distractions is by doing something fun.
Since I’m an active person these hobbies can include snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving, cycling…you name it. Here’s where my thought process of being present comes into play. Since I love documenting my life, I only let myself take my camera out once during each adventure. This way I am able to capture that moment, event, or day while still being “distraction” free. I still find it very challenging to do, but it makes me feel so much better at the end of the day. I have something to show my friends and family, but more importantly I know that I was able to tune into myself and my surroundings during that time, even if only for a few hours.
How do you make time to be present?
